Porto.CARD: What exactly is it? How does it work?

The Porto.CARD is the official sightseeing pass of the city of Porto (Portugal) and offers you:

1 free and unlimited use of public transport. This includes the metro (including the airport), STCP city buses and the suburban railway between between Paredes, Vila das Aves, Espinho (popular seaside resort with huge sandy beach) and Lousado. With the exception of historical trams.

2 Free or reduced admission to attractions, sights and museums in Porto.

3 Discounts at events (e.g. Fado concerts), bike hire, participating restaurants or shops. Includes excursions and boat trips on the Minho or Douro rivers; guided tours & wine tastings at world-famous port wine cellars.

If the children are 4 years old or younger, purchasing the Porto.Card is not worth it. Admission to most attractions and museums is free up to this age. There are often discounts on admission prices for older children as well.

Children aged 4 and over pay the same price as adults on local transport! If you would like to use public transport during your stay in Porto, it may be worth purchasing the Porto.Card.
